It’s summer and what better place to getaway to Tenterfield, our feature town perched high at the top of the New England and whose resplendent national parks and cool climate are a haven for holiday makers who want to escape the busy humid coast or the hot hot slopes and plains.
We meet some wonderful locals who are working to promote the town’s many attractions like Kim Rhodes from Tenterfield Chamber of Tourism Industry and Business and Kathryn Sommerlad from High Country Table. Local photographer Peter Reid has been busy taking images for stories on some innovative local businesses and Lara Flanagan shares her impressions in the new Living New England column.
While the magazine is spread with stories from Tenterfield there’s lots of other interesting locals featured from all around the region like the ladies from Moree who are proudly promoting the joys of plains living on the internet. We welcome Kate Black who has come ‘out of retirement’ to photograph Max Powell, a fabulous ceramicist from Glen Innes. The Upper Hunter is not left out. We meet artist Mandy Archibald and check out well known dog photographer David Darcy’s new gallery in Murrurundi. Jan Logan, international jewellery designer, shares her memories of growing up in Narrabri. And showcasing our rural lifestyle will be the annual agricultural shows coming up in Glen Innes and Tenterfield.
